Coronatest Bavaria

The intensive testing strategy of the Free State of Bavaria is currently leading to the establishment of several Corona test centers, including the Corona test center at Loretowiese in Rosenheim. In addition to the organizational effort to establish the test lanes and the actual testing on site, the orderly processing of tests is a central component for smooth operations. That’s exactly why we developed the “Corona Test Appointment Scheduling Tool” in a real development marathon.

At https://rosenheim.coronatest.bayern, citizens can register for an appointment. There will be different lanes within the test center to enable a fast and uncomplicated process for both pedestrians and drivers. For this reason, in addition to first name, last name, and email address for receiving the appointment confirmation, the type of arrival is also specified. Subsequently, the user is shown a schedule for the coming days, where they can see the still available time slots and select their personal preferred appointment. After the appointment is booked, the user receives a confirmation at the specified email address and can directly import the appointment into their calendar. Staff at the test station see the upcoming appointments directly on their devices and can plan the staffing of the lanes accordingly.

The “Corona Test Appointment Scheduling Tool” ensures an orderly testing process and avoids long waiting times. It also prevents larger gatherings of waiting people and is therefore an essential building block in avoiding possible infections through increased personal contact.
