Employee Introduction #12: Kilian Stich

innFactory is characterized above all by a strong team and long-term collaboration. That’s why we want to introduce our team in short employee interviews.

Name:

Kilian Stich

Education:

Bachelor of Arts, Business Administration

Master’s student at BI Norwegian Business School, Oslo

Area of activity at innFactory:

Business Developer

You’ve been working at innFactory for about 3 months. How did you become aware of innFactory?

As we all know, digitalization has been the dominant topic in corporate development in recent years. I was therefore looking for an opportunity to expand my knowledge in this area while working in a young, dynamic environment. A mutual acquaintance of Tobias and myself then made me aware of innFactory.

What appealed to you about starting at innFactory?

There are several reasons for this. I’d like to highlight two here. The first reason is based on the fact that I previously worked in a corporation. As is typical in a corporation, the processes are sometimes very sluggish and there are only limited opportunities to contribute creatively and change things. innFactory, on the other hand, is still very young and flexible. The opportunity to be directly involved in building a company was very attractive to me.

The second reason concerns innFactory’s business area. As an expert in IoT and cloud computing, innFactory accompanies companies into the digital age. The potential in this market is huge. For me, it’s exciting to experience how innFactory is shaping the future today.

You are studying for a Master’s in Business with a focus on Strategy at BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo. You are working as the first employee of innFactory 100% remotely. What are your first experiences with this?

Actually, my experiences are almost entirely positive. Due to the pandemic, I was already used to working remotely. Of course, it’s different starting out when you only know your colleagues from Teams. However, Maximilian prepared me very well for innFactory in many meetings and created a good overall picture of the company. This made it easy for me to identify with innFactory. When I have questions, all colleagues are always available.

You work in Business Development at innFactory. What business cases and problems have you already been able to work on in the first three months?

I’m responsible for our product “Laura AI” as a business developer. “Laura AI” is a robo-advisor in the mortgage financing sector. In the first few weeks, I was busy analyzing the market environment, gathering information, and having conversations with important players in the market. I will of course continue to pursue these tasks, but the focus has now shifted to evaluation. I’m currently working on developing a strategy for market development. I’m already looking forward to discussing the individual scenarios and later pursuing our goals operationally.

What distinguishes innFactory as an employer for you? Which employee benefits do you particularly appreciate at innFactory?

I particularly noticed the combination of a relaxed yet ambitious work environment. The founders are always open to discussion and also like to discuss new ideas. I was also able to experience this accessibility throughout the team. Every colleague gladly shares their knowledge and is interested in what others are doing. This creates a work atmosphere where everyone benefits from each other. Another benefit is clearly the time flexibility. I have a weekly time frame that I need to fulfill, but when I actually work is up to me. This has two advantages for me. Due to my full-time studies, there’s usually only time to work in the evenings or on weekends, and also I can open my laptop anytime I have an idea and get started.

What have you already been able to learn so far, and what do you particularly enjoy?

Since I come from the business side, my prior knowledge of programming and software was rather meager. Anton very considerately introduced me to the programming topics so that I can better understand the infrastructure behind Laura AI and subsequently better assess the possible applications. I’m still at the beginning of orienting myself in the programming jungle, but I try to absorb everything that’s explained to me. That’s also particularly fun, diving deeper and deeper into this world.

What do you like to do in your free time besides studies and work?

In my free time, I like to be in the mountains. In summer, I go road cycling or running and also participate in a triathlon from time to time. In winter, I like to go cross-country skiing. And when there’s time, I travel and like to discover new places.
