Amazon CodeCatalyst is a unified software development platform that combines source control, CI/CD pipelines, issue tracking, cloud-based development environments, and project management in one service.

The platform reduces the effort for tool integration and enables teams to start developing within minutes. Blueprints provide pre-configured project templates for common AWS application architectures.

Core Features

  • Integrated CI/CD: Build, test, and deployment in one platform
  • Dev Environments: Cloud-based development environments with VS Code and JetBrains
  • Blueprints: Pre-configured project templates for AWS applications
  • Issue Tracking: Integrated task management
  • GitHub/Bitbucket Integration: Connection to external repositories

Typical Use Cases

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between CodeCatalyst and the individual Code services?

CodeCatalyst unifies source control, CI/CD, issue tracking, and dev environments in one platform. The individual services (CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodePipeline) are standalone services configured separately. CodeCatalyst provides an integrated experience.

Is there a free tier?

Yes. The free tier includes up to 5 users, 60 build minutes per month, and limited dev environment hours. For larger teams, Standard and Enterprise plans are available.

Can I connect existing repositories?

Yes. CodeCatalyst supports GitHub and Bitbucket as external source providers. Existing repositories can be linked without migrating code.
