What is AWS Managed Services?
AWS Managed Services (AMS) handles the operational management of your AWS infrastructure. AWS operations teams monitor security and performance, manage incidents, apply patches, and ensure compliance following established ITSM practices.
AMS is currently offered in two operational models: AMS Advanced, the original model with its own single- or multi-account landing zone and an AMS-native change management system (RFCs), and AMS Accelerate, which operates directly in your existing AWS accounts without requiring migration to a new landing zone.
Important notice: AMS Advanced has stopped accepting new customers as of June 30, 2026, and will be fully discontinued on June 30, 2027. Existing Advanced customers will continue to be supported until then and migrated to Accelerate, AWS Support Plan - Unified Operations, AWS partner-led solutions, or a self-managed model. New customers should start directly with AMS Accelerate.
