What is BigQuery Omni?
BigQuery Omni extends BigQuery to data in AWS S3 and Azure Blob Storage. Data is analyzed where it resides, without moving it to Google Cloud. The same BigQuery SQL syntax and governance works across all three major cloud providers.
The technical foundation is Lakehouse for Apache Iceberg (known as BigLake until April 2026), through which BigQuery Omni accesses external tables in AWS S3 and Azure Blob Storage.
