What is Cloud Hub?

Cloud Hub is the centralized operations command center in Google Cloud. The service consolidates operational data and insights for applications and resources in one place and gives DevOps and SRE teams an aggregated view across multiple projects. Data can be organized by individual project or, application-centrically, by App Hub application.

Cloud Hub solves the problem of fragmented operational visibility. Instead of switching between monitoring, billing, deployment tools, and support consoles, teams see health, cost, deployments, quotas, and support cases in a single view. Cloud Hub is available at no additional charge and works out of the box without additional setup.

Core Features

  • Health and Troubleshooting: Open alerts and metrics from Cloud Monitoring plus active Google Cloud incidents and maintenance events in one place
  • Cost Optimization and Cost Explorer: Overview of the most expensive resources, cost trends week over week and month over month, per-resource cost attribution, and detection of underutilized workloads such as idle GPUs on GKE
  • Deployments: Failed and available deployments from Application Design Center plus recent Cloud Run and GKE deployments, including indications of configuration drift
  • Quotas and Support: Quota and capacity overview for Compute Engine plus management of support cases and service status

Typical Use Cases

Proactive application operations: SRE teams monitor health, active incidents, and maintenance events centrally and respond early, before users are affected.

Cost control and optimization: Teams identify the most expensive resources, analyze cost trends, and detect underutilized workloads such as idle GPUs to reduce cloud spend in a targeted way.

Correlation across projects: Operational data from multiple projects and App Hub applications is brought together in one place, which speeds up root cause analysis during incidents.

Benefits

  • Unified operational view with no switching between multiple consoles
  • No additional charge and no additional setup required
  • Application-centric view through integration with App Hub
