Google Cloud NetApp Volumes is a fully managed file storage service that provides proven NetApp ONTAP technology in Google Cloud. Organizations already using NetApp storage on-premises can migrate their workloads to the cloud with comparatively little adaptation effort. The service supports NFS, SMB, and iSCSI and offers enterprise features such as snapshots, cloning, and data tiering.
The service is jointly operated by Google and NetApp. Google manages the infrastructure and network while NetApp provides the storage software. This combines the advantages of Google’s cloud infrastructure with the reliability and feature set of NetApp ONTAP.
Service levels can be flexibly chosen: Flex for performance that scales independently of capacity, available zonally or regionally; Standard for general workloads; Premium for databases and applications; and Extreme for especially latency- and throughput-sensitive workloads.
