What is Google Maps Platform?
Google Maps Platform provides APIs for maps, location data, and route planning. Developers integrate Google Maps into web and mobile applications and use geocoding, route calculation, and Places search. The platform is based on the same data as the consumer Google Maps app.
The pricing structure has been organized into the Essentials, Pro, and Enterprise categories since March 2025. Instead of a pooled monthly credit, each API or SKU has its own monthly free tier, after which usage is billed per SKU.
