What is Data Studio?
Data Studio is Google’s free reporting and dashboard tool. It enables the creation of interactive visualizations without programming knowledge. Between 2022 and April 2026, the service operated under the name “Looker Studio”; since April 16, 2026, it carries its original name Data Studio again, to more clearly distinguish it from the enterprise BI platform Looker.
The drag-and-drop interface makes dashboard creation intuitive. Reports can be shared live and update automatically. Integration with Google Workspace enables seamless collaboration. Existing Looker Studio reports, data sources, and user access were automatically carried over to the new Data Studio experience.
