What is STACKIT MailOut?

STACKIT MailOut is an email delivery service that can be used exclusively for the automated, outbound delivery of emails. Typical uses are transactional messages such as registrations, login notifications, and order confirmations, as well as marketing and campaign emails.

According to the official documentation, the service is in beta. Plan production use accordingly, taking the documented feature set and possible changes during the beta into account.

MailOut is a pure sending service: incoming email, replies, and bidirectional communication are not supported, and no mailboxes or email accounts are provided. You use your own domains as sending domains.

Core Features

  • Scalable delivery: Highly available infrastructure with high-reputation IP pools for large email volumes
  • Your own sending domains: Use existing domains without provisioning mailboxes
  • Authentication: Compliance with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
  • Transport security: Support for MTA-STS, DANE, and DNSSEC
  • Bounce handling: Automated processing of hard and soft bounces as well as spam reports
  • Suppression list: Customer-managed, per sending domain
  • Message scanning: Spam and malware scanning for all messages
  • Dedicated IP: Optionally available for delivery

Typical Use Cases

Transactional email: Registration confirmations, login notifications, and order confirmations are sent directly from the application.

Marketing and campaign sending: Newsletters and campaigns are delivered over infrastructure built for high volumes.

Protecting deliverability: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC together with automated bounce handling and suppression lists keep the sending domain reputation stable.

Sovereign delivery: Email sending stays within the STACKIT cloud instead of relying on non-European providers.

Benefits

  • Clearly scoped service: Focused on outbound, automated delivery without mailbox administration
  • Standards out of the box: SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MTA-STS, DANE, and DNSSEC are supported
  • Less operational effort: No need to run your own mail transfer agent or build IP reputation
  • Control over recipient lists: Suppression list per sending domain stays with the customer
